Profiles In Care

Who We Are
The Commons at Squirrel Hill is a 178-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility. We’re located close to downtown Pittsburgh in a residential neighborhood of the bustling community of Squirrel Hill. The area is filled with the excitement, sights, and sounds of the city: shopping, restaurants, ethnic food shops, cafés, and a library. We’re just a mile off of the Parkway (I-376), less than three miles from the Oakland hospitals. And we’re easily accessible by bus.

We’ve been caring for people in the Pittsburgh area since 1965, providing top-quality, personalized rehabilitation, nursing, and long-term care in a warm, homelike setting.

We’re locally run and staffed by caring and attentive Pittsburgh-area healthcare professionals. And we’re backed by Berkshire Healthcare, one of the largest, nonprofit, long-term care providers in Massachusetts. That gives us a tremendous advantage: access to an extensive network of top healthcare professionals and other resources to support our programs and services.
